A focusing ring allows you to observe objects without your glasses on, if desired. The included tripod is extendable from 3' to 4' so that you can sit or stand when looking through the 60x magnification eyepiece. Then the computer will know its location and is able to automatically find declination and right ascension of any of the objects in its database. When you begin, be sure to include your time and time zone and then align on two known stars. Using Celestron's proprietary StarBright XLT multi-coating system, light transmission is increased throughout the entire optical path with anti-reflection multi-coated lenses, highly-reflective multi-coated mirrors, and Crown optical glass elements. The Celestron NexStar 6SE 150mm f/10 Telescope has a SchmidtCassegrain style to maintain portability but without sacrificing a 6" diameter, which is a wide enough scope with enough light-gathering capabilities for deeper space observing mostly the moon but also the rings of Saturn and nebulae.
